meal mood

Well... im finally back it seems! after quite a long vacation i feel the need to draw again, and i must say things are coming along!

there are a few conflicts with this piece, i realise it looks a bit obvious that i used a template, i hope to rectify this in the next installment...

also i feel it might seem apparent at this point where i got my inspiration... one of my favorite calvin and hobbes strips... i felt the need the need to embellish.

so do enjoy, PLEASE leave a comment, good or bad i love to hear what people think

one last thing id like to add, i actually reeally wanted to color this piece... and i wanted to color it in photoshop... which proved to be very difficult for many reasons, the most prominent one being i know little to nothing about photoshop and its intricacies baffle me...

if anyone has something to add on this pesky photoshop business i will appreciate the input...

omigod omigod! fruits 002! with another 9 fruits to admire...

so each time i do a new one of these i will post a handy dandy list of every fruit i have ever drawn, and here it is:

im not sure why i am so captivated by robots... it might have something to do with their shape...

lets be honest you could make a robot look like a trashcan, and everyone would accept it (come to think of it, thats not a bad idea)

but you know what i mean, robots can be broken down to really simple shapes...

anyways i love comments, good or bad, they keep me going!:)

Fruits 001

Beanworld Vol. 3 came out yesterday and it was great! although it was noticeably thinner and less dense then its predecessors, everything  was there that should be there...

anyways today i break a bottle over the new voyage ship that is...

FRUITS

yes fruits, back when my cousin visited me in Toronto (from England) she brought with her some awsome markers, i was experimenting with them, and from this came a page of strange yet familiar fruits.

so today i brings fruits 1, with old and new, and my goal is to draw every fruit in existance (holy COW!)

thats a tall order! but im determined... maybe when i finish them all i'll print a large poster, showing them all in all their glory....

or maybe ill start a new fad! trading fruits? pokefruits? gotta taste them all? who knows, but this is a good idea...

in fact its a great idea! PATENT PENDING!!!

ive been playing a lot of Sonic lately and found the need to draw my own interpretation of this running rodent.
by the way, wtf is tails? a fox? strange, and what it gods name is an echidna?
so yeah, please let me know what you think, and yes i know this is REALLY rough around the edges but i had spent enough time on it already...

(3 Days until Beanworld vol. 3)

Angry Man and Beanworld

in case all you people out there didn't know already Beanworld volume 3: remember here when you are there comes out this coming Saturday! (i think its honestly hard to tell)

if you aren't yet a fan of the series then i strongly recommend heading down to your nearest comic shop and picking up a copy of volume 1: wahoolazuma

I've tried many times to convince my friends that Beanworld was indeed one of the best reads out there, but prejudice falls on the name itself. people find it hard to take something called "Beanworld" seriously, especially whence trying to describe the story, things like "professor garbanzo" and "not worms" bubble up into the conversation.

if you are struggling in the same way here is what i suggest and hope to do myself:

do not describe the story... try to describe the core itself... that is, Beanworld is no less a story, then a journey, one that everyone experiences differently (to quote Scott Mcloud).

it plays with one of the most powerful elements in storytelling: intrigue (to me at least), and that once you begin to understand Beanworld, you become a part of it, and your mind explores possibilities and ideas, and you become entirely immersed in this strange universe, filled with strange folk, and strange laws.

i love Beanworld, and i can not WAIT until volume 3.


anyways i did a small piece for shits and giggles today, hope you like it:

JoyTown Express

Ahhh how thrilling is it to finally have finished this simple project? to finally have everything back to normal.

the reign of terror known as vista is vanquished, and the glory that is XP has returned...

so here it is, joytown express... there are a lot of things i like about this piece, and some experimentation has taken place.

i tend to go kind of crazy with the colors, so i ran this thing through photoshop and muted it a bit, i think its an improvement...

anyways, without further ado:

Rosebud

not much to report really, i know that is a horribly chiched blog post but hear me out...

still trying to get my computer back in order, and im having some difficulty getting my cintiq 12WX working in XP. this is a continuing problem i have come to find out, and not one i can solve in a day. so until the day comes when i can go back to using my tablet, i am a "writing haitus".

in other words i am working on the script for 3D-Boy my current project. at this point the script for the 3rd comic is completely finished and i have 6 pages done on the first (i realize this a weird way of doing things but w/e)

anyways i thought id put up a picture i had drawn in my short trip to London England, i was drawing it off a real flower (cant remember if it was really a rose or not).

its been touched with photoshop, but not much, i think it looks pretty good, but i may fool with it later.

The following is a picture i was working on untill flash crashed, and my tablet stopped working all at once.. now im not one to post unfinished work, but i am doing this for 2 reasons.

a. i wont be able to finish it for a while, and i am basically out of commision and
b. this picture stands as testement to my pure white rage, only now a fart in the breeze compared to the anger i was feeling when flash crashed...

damn you vista, damn you to HELL. i might do a piece to best describe my hatred for vista and my understandable unwillingness to install windows 7

well the art show was a complete success however i only got one picture out of the reckage.

as depressing as this is, i take solice in the fact that the photographer had both his legs broken and his pets killed, also his camera was smashed over his mailbox which had just got a fresh coat of paint.

but any ways its not a bad picture, here you see me talking avidly to someone about their new website verses deviant art, you can make out the display card but only barely...

and although its not necessary, i thought id include a picture of me, which isnt too bad (a rarity).

*sigh* oh well, pictures of the poster to come!

Today i was giving away special trading cards with my contact info to those who would be interested in CONTACTING ME. on the back was my name and e-mail, but on the front was a unique rendered "object" that had at that second of conception, been on my mind. some of these included a moose, some kind of strange button shaped object, a train, all done in the style of my huge poster, which i hope to sell along with my comics when all of this ties together.

when i had finished making these cards i had kind of fallen in love with them , and couldnt bare giving them out to strange people without making a scan of them first... i may do fully rendered color version of these cards and who knows they may actually become collectors items some day, who or what is collecting these things is hard to say...

pictures of the art show were i was showing my work and giving said cards out, are coming soon, all in good time, in the mean time please enjoy these cards as i have.

ps the train is my favorite, i turned it into a sign for my poster so i might get to keep it, for those of you who pay close attention to the gallery pictures will notice this detail.

3D-Boy

This is purely for formality. I want to tell people about my latest project, which i hope to actually  FINISH...

It's a comic, about a world of magic, of fantasy and super heroes.in a world, where magic is the norm and where there is no such thing as "unusual" life at your average school could be interesting.

enter in our three protagonists:

3D-Boy, filled with imagination, a heart for adventure and a dream; to be the greatest super-hero ever known

Highball, brother to 3D-Boy, a fairly depressed under achiever attending the same school. With a slight additude problem and a confused ability set, Highball struggles and has high loathing for his "on a roll" brother.

Erde, a "new to our ways" girl, who has vowed to follow in her fathers foot-steps to soften the blow of her attendance at New World academy.

Life is anything if not strange, on this familiar blue world, called earth. But a closer look reveals a certain consistancy when it comes to rules, and morals.
